To provide a method for authenticating a terminal for easily and correctly authenticating whether access is performed by the terminal given an access right to a server or not.
The terminal 4 reads information of an individual ID from a storage medium 5, and attaches the individual ID to an authentication ID issue request to transmit the authentication ID issue request to the server 3 in transmitting the authentication ID issue request to the server 3. When the server 3 receives the authentication ID issue request, the server 3 issues an inherent authentication ID on the basis of the information of the individual ID only for the first attempt, stores the inherent authentication ID into the server 3 and distributes the inherent authentication ID to the terminal 4 that has requested the inherent authentication ID to make the terminal 4 store the inherent authentication ID. When the server 3 receives an information distribution request, the server 3 authenticates that the terminal 4 of the request source is a terminal allowed to access the server 3 when the terminal 4 has an authentication ID that is the same as the authentication ID stored in the server 3.
