Title:
METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY POURING MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04327360
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate variance of molten metal pouring quantity by measuring the area of molten metal surface in a sprue in a mold with an image sensor and adjusting the tilting speed of a sectoral ladle based on the above.

CONSTITUTION: The sectoral ladle 1 is tilted with a servo motor, and molten metal in the ladle 1 is poured into the mold 8. At the initial stage of pouring, the servo motor is rotated at high speed to execute rapid pouring. When the molten metal pouring quantity becomes near 80% of the fixed quantity, the rotation of servo motor is made to middle speed and further, when the molten metal surface is detected at the sprue hole, the rotation of servo motor is made to low speed and the molten metal surface area is measured with the image sensor. As the cross section in the sprue hole is triangle shape, this area is varied with ascent and descent of the molten metal, surface. When the area becomes the prescribed quantity, the servo motor is reversely rotated to restrain the molten metal pouring quantity, and at the time of fully pouring, the molten metal pouring is made to stop. The variance of molten metal pouring quantity is eliminated, and the working speed can be quickened.
