Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a small glass pane having a small radius of curvature of a docking zone by evading the counter bending of a wide region of the glass pane by acting driving power on glass sheets, then acting gravity and additional mechanical force thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The glass sheets are arranged on a frame 1 having two stationary lateral members 2 bonded by spindles assuring the rigidity of an assembly and stationary traversing members 3 mounted with pivot type crossing members 4 varying in curvature on the inner side and are supported by a skeleton 6 moving along rails 7. The assembly is moved and put into a bending furnace and is preheated. The assembly is then deflected by gravity at a temp. approximate to the softening point of the glass. These glass sheets are supported at the peripheral part of the frame 1 and the central part of a side member 2 and one moved along the rails 7. The glass sheets are arranged below a part 8 for forming by a device 11 and pivot section members 4 are rotated. Thus, the bent laminated glass pane having a docking angle exceeding 50° in at least one docking zone and a radius of curvature of <200 mm is obtd.
