Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a bending method and a machine therefor where the same shaped metallic member can be bent with a different radius of curvature by the same machine.
CONSTITUTION: In banding a long size shaped metallic member, the shaped metal 4 is set at a prescribed position while it is brought in contact with the circumferential face of a main roll 2, the shaped metal 4 is clamped and fixed with a fixing clamper 6 on the shaped metal introducing side of the main roll 2, and it is clamped with a moving clamper 5 on the shaped metal discharging side, then the moving clamper 5 is moved at a prescribed stroke and it is bent along the main roll. Next, the clamping with the moving clamper is released, a sub-roll 3 installed oppositely to the main roll 2 is moved on the circumference of the main roll 2 at a prescribed stroke, the main roll 2 and the sub roll 3 are driven and turned to the shaped metal discharging direction, and at the same time, a shaped metal pressing part 7 is moved synchronously, the shaped metal 4 is positively drawn out with the main roll 2 and the sub roll 3 and it is bent continuously with the radius of curvature more than two stages.
