Abstract:

To provide a method for bleaching a non-wood pulp so as to have a high whiteness while minimizing the increase of bleaching cost and also maintaining the viscosity of the pulp not using a chlorine-based chemical but using only a peroxide in bleaching the non-wood pulp.

This method for bleaching the non-wood pulp in a high whiteness includes treating the pulp with a chelating agent or an acid, performing a first stage of bleach treatment by adding a peroxide to the treated pulp and then further adding the peroxide without washing the pulp to perform a second stage of bleach treatment.
