PURPOSE: To obtain a method for breeding by mating of a new strain of Lyophyllum ulmarium in which the Lyophyllum ulmarium of good quality can be obtained in a short cultivation period without warping the cap of a fruiting body.
CONSTITUTION: The objective method for breeding a new strain of Lyophyllum ulmarium in which the cap of a fruiting body does not warp in the full-ripe stage of the fruiting body and the cultivation period to the harvesting of the fruiting body does not exceed 100 days in carrying out the artificial cultivation is to mate the Lyophyllum ulmarium without warping the cap of the fruiting body in the full-ripe stage of the fruiting body with other Lyophyllum ulmarium species. Lyophyllum ulmarium M-8171 is cited as an example of the new strain.
