Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for carrying out detoxification treatment of a polluted oil with an organohalogen compound, in which an amount of an alkali metal used is reduced.
SOLUTION: The method for carrying out the detoxification treatment of the polluted oil with the organohalogen compound has a reaction step reacting the polluted solution in which the organohalogen compound is dissolved in a solvent oil with the alkali metal which is excessively added than the chemical equivalent and a hydration step for adding water to the poluted solution passed through the reaction step and extracting an alkali metal halide produced by the reaction with water. The solvent oil is a hydrocarbon and the reaction step has a dehalogenation step for carrying out dehalogenation of the organohalogen compound by the alkali metal and a separation step for separating and removing the solvent oil from the poluted solution passed through the dehalogenation step. An unreacted alkali metal kept in a state contained in residual liquid after the separation step is recycled as the alkali metal in the dehalogenation step.
