Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a casting method, with which cooling efficiency is changed during solidifying an ingot and the advancing position of solidification is adjusted, and apparatus thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A hollow part at the center of an ingot is formed by using a core 16 fixed in an ingot mold 1. Cooling fluid is constituted of a main flowing circulated in the center passage of the core 16 and the additional flowing poured in the main flowing. The additional flowing is poured through a handling shaft fixed to the lateral direction in a mandrel 8 of the core 16. This handling shaft is provided with the opening hole. The opening hole desirably have form of a nozzle which communicates with the center passage.
