To provide a method for cell culture, by which adhesion-dependent cells are subcultured by compact constitution.
The method for cell culture comprises repeatedly carrying out an adhesion process for adhering cells to microdisks 5 existing in a chamber 10, a proliferation process for culturing and proliferating the cells in a state adhered to the microdisks 5 in a liquid medium, a release process for releasing the cells proliferated in the proliferation process from the microdisks 5 in the chamber 10, a suspension process for discharging a liquid material in the chamber 10 while remaining the cells and the microdisks 5 in the chamber 10 after the release process, adding a new liquid medium to the chamber 10 and suspending the cells, and a carrier addition process for adding microdisks 5 to the chamber 10 so that the amount of the microdisks 5 is larger than that of the microdisks existing in the chamber 10 during the proliferation process. Consequently, the subculture is carried out in one chamber by performing in these processes.
