Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stabilize gas flow distribution in the center part of a blast furnace and to highly hold coke temp. in the furnace core.
CONSTITUTION: A part of the coke and a part of iron source are mixed by the wt. ratio satisfying the following inequality. The inquality: 0.05×(O/C)≤(OM/ CM)≤0.30×(O/C), wherein, O/C: wt. ratio of the total iron source raw material (O) to the total coke (C) charged into the furnace, OM/CM: wt. ratio of the iron source raw material (OM) to the coke (CM) in the mixed raw material. The mixed raw material M is charged into the center part of the furnace previously to the ordinary charges of the coke C1, C2 and the ordinary charges of the iron source raw material O1, O2 or previously to the ordinary charges of the iron source raw material O1, O2. It is desirable that the charge of the mixed raw material into the center part is executed through the separated route from the ordinary furnace top charging device. By this method, the blast furnace operation is stabilized and the unstable furnace condition can be recovered in the early time.
