Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit for detecting the directivity of an outline and executing a more natural outline processing in a point where a horizontal outline and a vertical outline cross and in an oblique outline point.
SOLUTION: For solving the problem of a point where a horizontal outline and a vertical outline cross, the times of all pixels in horizontal, vertical, right upward oblique and left upward oblique directions, which are adjacent to an objective pixel, are matched. An outline emphasis value obtained by weighting the luminance of the pixel with the largest difference of luminance among the pixels in respective directions and the luminance of the objective pixel is obtained and the outline emphasis value is added to the objective pixel. For solving the problem in an oblique outline point, the outline emphasis values before and behind are adopted as they are when the codes of the two continuous weighted outline emphasis values are the same. When the codes differ, an oblique optimization processing where the outline emphasis values before and behind are set to be '0' is executed and the value is added to the objective pixel.
