Abstract:

To provide a method for coating aluminum wheels having corrosion resistance equal to or higher than that in chromate treating and not containing hexad chromium ions.

(1) The method for coating the aluminum wheels applies a pretreatment consisting of degreasing plus non-chromate treating to the surfaces of the aluminum wheels prior to coating of the aluminum wheels. (2) The method for coating the aluminum wheels applies a pretreatment consisting of degreasing plus pickling plus non-chromate treating to the surfaces of the aluminum wheels prior to coating of the aluminum wheels. (3) The method for coating the aluminum wheels applies a pretreatment consisting of degreasing plus pickling plus non-chromate treating plus organic treating to the surfaces of the aluminum wheels prior to coating of the aluminum wheels.
