PURPOSE: To improve the surface function such as resistance to corrosion and wear by coating the entire periphery of a material to be coated with a foil, heating the foil to a high temp., degassing the space between the foil and material, which are firmly attached to each other and diffusing the foil into the material.
CONSTITUTION: This coating material is formed into a foil, (a) a material 6 is coated with the foil, and both ends are welded except the insertion place of a pipe 10. (b) The coated material is heated to a high temp. to degass the space between the foil 7 and material, which are firmly attached to each other, and the element is diffused by the heat treatment with a heater 14 to perform coating. (c) The marginal part on both ends is cut off. The diffusion is preferably conducted in an inert gas atmosphere at ≥10atm. A coating foil having a lower strength than the material to be coated, at high temps. and excellent in ductility is used.
