To provide a method for efficiently collecting silver from a resinous product containing silver as a silver powder suitable for reuse at a high recovery rate.
The method for collecting silver comprises at least the steps of: treating the resinous product containing silver with an alkaline solution, and then separating the treatment solution into an alkali-insoluble component and a treated product containing silver; adding sulfuric acid to the treated product containing silver to prepare slurry containing the silver powder; adding an anionic surface active agent to the slurry containing the silver powder to produce a silver powder agglomerate; and to collect the silver powder agglomerate. The slurry containing the silver powder has preferably a pH of 1.0 to 5.0.
