To provide a method for combining organic modifying residues with an inorganic solid, capable of combining the organic modifying residues of various kinds with the solid.
This method for combining the organic modifying residues with the inorganic solid comprises reacting an organosilane compound 1 which has an unsaturated hydrocarbon residue 12 and the organic modifying residues 13 and is expressed by general formula (1) with the inorganic solid 2 and conducting a reaction process for forming a covalent bond between a silicon atom with which the unsaturated hydrocarbon residue is combined in the organosilane compound 1 and the inorganic solid 2. The reaction process is preferably conducted so that the organosilane compound 1 is brought into contact with the inorganic solid 2 and heated. Further, silica is preferably used as the the inorganic solid 2.
