Abstract:
To provide a composition and a method for enhancing the palatability of a dry or semi-dry pet food composition (especially an extruded cat food composition).
The palatability enhancing composition is a dry cat food coating including tetrasodium pyrophosphate at about 0.1 wt.% to about 1.0 wt.% of the finished pet food product, and is applied, after the extrusion process, to the extruded particles or pieces of a pet food.
