Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for connecting a magnesium alloy component in which adhesion of a liquid gasket against the magnesium alloy component can be improved in a less-expensive manner.SOLUTION: After a magnesium alloy plate (magnesium alloy component) 1 is heated in hot water 4, a liquid gasket 3 is applied to coat a connecting surface of the magnesium alloy plate 1 and they are connected to each other. Heating of the magnesium alloy plate in hot water 4 generates either magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide at the surface. Due to this fact, chemical coupling of the liquid gasket 3 against the magnesium alloy plate 1 is reinforced and adhesion of the liquid gasket 3 against the magnesium alloy plate 1 is improved. In addition, a temperature of hot water is 80°C or more and the magnesium alloy plate 1 is immersed in the hot water 4 for more than five minutes, thereby it is possible to improve substantially adhesion of the liquid gasket 3 against the magnesium alloy plate 1.
