Abstract:

Neutral lipophilic complexes of propylene amine oxime ligands have the property of undergoing in vivo a chemical reaction mediated by glutathione resulting in loss of the ability to pass through cell membranes. This property is used to detect or treat regions of relatively high in vivo glutathione concentration. Complexes of propylene amine oxime ligands having the formula 3 in the d,l- or particularly the meso- form, may be used to detect or treat tumours or other damaged or diseased tissue.
