Abstract:

To continuously anneal a flat Al-alloy strip in a high yield.

In the method for continuously annealing the Al-alloy strip 1, steps of heat treatment, water quenching and shape detection are continuously performed in the order named. The shape of the Al-alloy strip 1 is continuously detected in the shape detection step; and, based on the results of the detection, cooling velocity for at least either of the top and the bottom surface of the Al-alloy strip 1 in the water quenching step is varied in a width direction to straighten the Al-alloy strip 1 into flat shape. Because the Al-alloy strip 1 can be straightened into flat shape, the occurrence of contact of the Al-alloy strip 1 with a gas injection nozzle for floating conveyance and the resultant occurrence of flaws, etc., can be prevented and manufacturing yield can be improved.
