Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable effective continuous casting of molten metal at a low cost by casting the molten metal while separating and removing non-metallic inclusion through rotating whirl pool with a stirring bar arranged on the way of molten metal flowing passage in a tundish.
CONSTITUTION: The molten metal is cast into a mold while separating and removing the non-metallic inclusion through the rotating whirl pool developed with rotation of the stirring bar (a), (b), (c), (d) or (e) arranged almost vertically and freely rotatable on the way of the molten metal flowing passage in the tundish. By this method, the cast slab having good cleanliness and little non-me tallic inclusion can be produced.
