Abstract:

PURPOSE: To avoid useless consumption of fuel, by stopping increasing of fuel immediately when an engine is brought back to its idling operation while warming up the engine.

CONSTITUTION: Output signals of an air flow meter 17, throttle opening sensor 21, air-fuel ratio sensor 33, water temperature sensor 34, etc. are applied to a control circuit 50. The control circuit 50 executes feedback control on the opening time of a fuel injection valve 28 to make the air-fuel ratio of mixture equal to the theoretical air-fuel ratio under steady operation of engine. At the time of engine warming-up operation when the water temperature sensor detects a value lower than a prescribed value and at the time of engine accelerating operation when the mean value of air flow rate/engine speed is increased, supply of fuel is increased for improving engine operation. While increasing fuel supply for acceleration, the opening of a throttle valve is detected continuously while executing is stopped immediately if idling operation whereat the throttle valve is fully opened is detected.
