To provide a method of controlling an apparatus for separating product gas and non-product gas from air supply.
The method includes sensing the oxygen concentration in the product gas produced by the apparatuses 15, 16, 17, determining an instantaneous demand D for oxygen concentration in the product gas, providing to a controller 20 a process variable signal P indicative of the sensed concentration of the oxygen in the product gas, and providing to the controller 20 a demand input signal 24 indicative of the demand D, sensing the environmental parameter and providing an environmental parameter input signal 21 to the controller 20, comparing the process variable signal P and the demand signal 24 to generate an error signal 27 indicative of a change in oxygen concentration in the product gas required to match the instantaneous demand D, and conditioning the error signal to derive a control signal to control the apparatuses 15, 16, 17 to satisfy the demand D. The conditioning of the error signal is compensated to derive the control signal depending upon the environmental parameter input signal 24.
