Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify control and to readily and rapidly optimize formation of paper machine without using complicated fussy inference, etc.
CONSTITUTION: General formation coefficients are plotted in horizontal axis and fine formation coefficients in vertical axis, respectively, based on experimental data previously carried out on each kind of paper and a formation control map divided into plural control zones having room for improvement of formation, requiring control and a monitor zone not requiring control is prepared on each kind of paper. Measured results of the general formation coefficients and the fine formation coefficients obtained from transmitted light images are plotted on the formation control map and regulation in the control zone in which the plotted dots exist is done to improve formation. Then the similar operation is repeated so that when the measured results of the general formation coefficients and the fine formation coefficients obtained from transmitted light images are transferred to a monitor zone, the control is stopped and the formation is moved to a monitor state.
