METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INPUT OF ELECTRIC POWER IN WELDING OF ELECTRIC RESISTANCE WELDED TUBE

PURPOSE: To perform sound welding by supplying to both ends of a plated band steel an electric power in accordance with the thickness or the passing speed of the band steel and a heating electric power based on a power value determined in accordance with a plating weight.
CONSTITUTION: The thickness V and the passing speed T of a band steel are introduced to the calculation unit 2 of a controller 1, on the basis of which the current and voltage values of the band steel are calculated, with the voltage value introduced to a heat input command unit 3. Meantime, the above voltage value is introduced to a calculation unit 2a, in which a formula for calculating a current value in accordance with a plating weight is preliminarily stored; and, with the plating weight of the plated band steel inputted, a current value is calculated which is suitable to the plating weight. Then, it is introduced to the heat input command unit 3 through an adjusting unit 6; and, together with the power value in accordance with the thickness t or the like of the band steel, the current value in accordance with the plating weight is supplied to both ends of the band steel, as a welding current (high frequency current) through a thyristor inverter 4 and an oscillating tube 5, so that welding is performed through heating/melting by resistance heating.
