To provide a method for controlling operation carriages of a yarn-treating apparatus, in which service treatment to units can efficiently be practiced by efficiently traveling and moving the operation carriages even when service processing is required from two units located at positions which mutually interfere.

An area in which both operation carriages 4a and 4b interfere to each other and concurrent operation processing becomes impossible when both operation approach based on width size of units 2 and the operation carriages 4a and 4b is defined as "interference area". Then, when service processing is required from two units 2, whether both operation carriages become mutual interference state or not, based on such interference area, prior to traveling movement of operation carriages 4a and 4b is determined and when it is determined that the both operation carriages become mutual interference state, a distance ranging from present positions of each operation carriages 4a and 4b to units 2 requiring processing is measured and service treatment by either one of operation carriages 4a and 4b in which a distance to the unit 2 requiring processing is shorter is preferentially practiced.
