Title:
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING POWER CONSUMPTION IN SUB-CIRCUIT OF SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3640294
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate fluctuation in an operation condition and operation temp. and to make power consumption to min. by setting a power source voltage added to a sub-circuit to a min. level in order to confirm the proper operation of the sub-circuit by means of a decided frequency based on the characteristic of the sub-circuit.
SOLUTION: The operation system of a processing element(PE) 100 confirms a required completion time, divides the aggregation body of takes equally as much as possible, PE is considered by the task which requires much execution time and a clock frequency is adjusted in order to permit PE with a max. load to execute the assigned task within the required completion time. Thus, when the frequency is decided once, a min. power source voltage is decided. In this case, the power source voltage to be added to the sub-circuit is set to the min. level in order to confirm the proper operation of the sub-circuit by the decided frequency based on the characteristic of the sub-circuit.
