To appropriately adjust a projection position of a projection picture P.SOLUTION: A method for controlling a projector 100 comprising a projection unit 110 and a photographing unit 160 includes: a projection step of making the projection unit 110 project picture light PL onto a screen SC having at least three markers MK disposed in one direction along a curved projection surface PS to form a projection picture P; a generation step of making the photographing unit 160 photograph the projection picture P and the markers MK to generate a photographed picture JM; and an adjustment step of adjusting a projection position on the basis of the photographed picture JM so that a position of an outer edge SM of a projection area AR of the projection picture P approximately agree with a position of the marker MK.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
