Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for controlling a sheet temp. of an alloying furnace capable of controlling the sheet temp. with high accuracy.

CONSTITUTION: The emissivity of a steel sheet 12 in the alloying furnace 24 is previously determined as a function of the distance from the inlet of the alloying furnace 24 in accordance with operating conditions including a sheet thickness, sheet width, line speed, steel kind, target value of the sheet temp. and the actually measured furnace temp. of the alloying furnace. The surfaces of the steel sheet 12 are then alloyed by controlling the operating condition in such a manner that the target value of the sheet temp. is attained in accordance with the function indicating the predetermined emissivity.
