To provide a method for controlling a sheet temperature in a continuous annealing furnace, which can increase a production amount, and to provide the continuous annealing furnace.
In the continuous annealing furnace 1 which heats a steel sheet S while continuously passing the sheet through an induction heating zone 4 and a gas heating zone 6 in this order, this control method includes: controlling each amount of heating in the induction heating zone 4 and the gas heating zone 6 to the maximum allowable amount of heating in the induction heating zone 4 and the gas heating zone 6; controlling the passing speed of the steel sheet S to the target passing speed at which a temperature of the steel sheet S in an outlet side of the gas heating zone 6 can be set at a target sheet temperature based on a cross sectional area of the steel sheet S and the controlled maximum amount of heating; and controlling at least either of the amount of heating in the induction heating zone 4 or the target passing speed so that the difference between the temperature of the steel sheet S in the outlet side of the gas heating zone 6 and the target sheet temperature decreases, when the temperature of the steel sheet S in the outlet side of the gas heating zone 6 deviates from the target sheet temperature.
