Abstract:

PURPOSE: To minimize the production of an excess material by eliminating the effect of excess and deficiency of molten metal generated in the previous process in continuous casting equipment.

CONSTITUTION: In the multi-strand system continuous casting equipment, the casting rate pattern in each strand is calculated based on a casting length and an aimed casting time in each strand, and the casting rate at each strand is set in accordance with the producing condition of the cast slab to make the casting length in each strand different. Such treatment that the excess and deficiency of molten metal can be concentrated to the one side of the strand is executed by a process computer 2, and the electric equipment 3 is driven based on this result.
