Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the speed of numerical control apparatus that can reduce an acceleration and a variation of the acceleration for works, depending on instruction data by making a curved shape approximated by linear sections of continuous infinitesimal line.
SOLUTION: The method for controlling the speed of numerical control apparatus provides the instruction data, approximating the curved shape with the infinitesimal lines of p1 to p2, p2 to p3, and so on, which are values rounded up to minimum unit (a grid pattern in figure). The method extracts a second-order curved line 2, by smoothing the values with a method of least squires and the likes, and also obtains corrected instruction points q1 to q5, by bringing instruction points p close to the second-order curved line 2 to be within a tolerance value set. The method works on work items by controlling the speed of the numerical apparatus, with the help of controlling the acceleration and enhanced acceleration by using the correction instruction points. Changes in the acceleration and the variation in the acceleration become small, due to the fact that a line graph connecting with the modified instruction points becomes smoother than the line graph connecting the instruction points. Conversely, the need to reduce the speed of the acceleration and the enhanced acceleration becomes trivial because of small changes of the acceleration and the variation in the acceleration, which in turn, increase the productivity for the works and enable the limited variation of speeds for the works to obtain a smoothed work surface.
