To prevent a foreign matter from being dragged in opening movement activated by detecting the foreign matter even if the foreign matter is caught between an opening-side end of the slide door and a chassis of a vehicle from outside the vehicle.
The slide door is moved along an outer surface of the chassis on a full open side, and curvedly moved in an inward/outward direction of the chassis in the vicinity of a full closed position. A touch sensor 22 for detecting a foreign matter caught between a door rear end (opening-side end) and the chassis is arranged on the door rear end 1a, and when the foreign matter caught in between is detected, the slide door is driven by a predetermined amount e in an opening direction, and then driving control is interrupted. Thus, the foreign matter can be removed, and even if the foreign matter remains on the full open side, by virtue of the interruption of the driving control, the foreign matter is prevented from being dragged by the door to the full open position.
