Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a blind equalizing method adaptive to the blind equalization of a decision feedback equalizer(DFE).
SOLUTION: A feedforward section 955 and a feedback section 965 of a DFE use different types of tap-updating algorithms. In particular, a statistic tap-updating method is applied to the feedforward section 955 and a symbol- based tap-updating method is applied to the feedback section 965. In one example, the blind convergence of the feedforward filter 955 is performed by using an RCA(reduced constellation algorithm) tap-updating algorithm, and the convergence of the feedback filter 965 is performed by using a least means square(LMS) tap updating algorithm sliced at every symbol. In another example, an MMA(multi-modulus algorithm) is used for the feedforward filter 955, and a generalized LMS tap-updating algorithm is used for the feedback filter 965.
