To provide a method for conveying a bundle of fibrillated fibers with an enlarged width by which the bundle is conveyed without diminishing the fibrillation width again during the process to convey the fiber bundle to a following step as well as a device for conveying the fiber bundle.

The method for conveying the bundle of the fibrillated fibers is to continuously convey the bundle of the fibrillated fibers, supported on a belt which has a larger width than the bundle of the fibrillated fibers and is curved to form a projecting part on the side coming into contact with the bundle. In addition the device for conveying the bundle of the fibrillated fibers is structured of a group of at least three rotatable rollers arranged side by side and an endless belt which comes into contact with the rollers and is arranged in such a way that the belt is curved to form a projecting part on the side coming into contact with the conveyed bundle and further, has a larger width than the width of the bundle. Further, the method for manufacturing a prepreg is to continuously convey the bundle by applying the described method and device and impregnate the bundle of the fibrillated fibers with a resin.
