Title:
METHOD OF COOLING AIRRCOOLED INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5560618
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To cool air-cooled internal combustion engine more effectively by blowing cooling air containing a number of fine particles of water onto cooling means (cooling fins) of engine. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles of water 9 is sprayed into cooling air 8 from spraying means 2 to absorb heat radiated from high-temperature cooling fins of air-cooled internal combustion chamber 1, so that temperature of cooling air 8 is lowered by the latent heat deprived when the fine particles of water 9 is evaporated. At the same time, a portion of remaining water particles 9 comes into abutment with the cooling fins and the body of engine and is evaporated instantaneously. Resultantly, a quantity of heat corresponding to the latent heat required for evaporation of water is deprived directly from the cooling fins and the body of engine, so that their temperature can be also lowered effectively.
