To efficiently cool molten slag having relatively high basicity and viscous property.
In the cooling of the molten slag having basicity of 2, the molten slag is supplied between the upper part outer peripheral surfaces of a pair of cooling rolls arranged in parallel to have a gap (g) between the rolls and each having rotary direction to rotate downward to form a slag liquid pool A and the molten slag in the slag liquid pool A or in a way of entering to the slag liquid pool A is cooled by a cooling means 2. The molten slag flowing-in from the slag liquid pool A to the gap (g) is rolled while being cooled by a pair of the cooling rolls and the molten slag solidified at least in the surface is drawn out from the gap (g). As a result, the viscous molten slag is cooled with high cooling efficiency to obtain the slag solidified body with high productivity, and since the cooling rate of the molten slag becomes high, the slag solidified body being hardly powdered is obtained even from the slag particularly having high basicity.
