Abstract:

To provide a technology for suppressing deterioration of quality of a printed image formed by printing using pigment ink and dye ink.

This printer 100 performs band printing using pigment ink and dye ink of black in bidirectional printing. In the printer 100, a pigment ink dot is formed earlier and a dye ink dot is formed later in a going passage region where a print head 60 moves in a going direction. The dye ink dot is formed earlier and the pigment ink dot is formed later in a return passage region where the print head 60 moves in a return direction. A density correction performing section 25 changes the delivery amount of the pigment ink dot and corrects the printing density using a prepared correspondence between the density per unit area of a solid image of uniform density and the voltage value of driving voltage applied to a nozzle to constitute the solid image.
