Abstract:
PURPOSE:To correct the position in a work area with a high precision by dividing the work area along one of three axes X, Y, and Z by a proper length and obtaining position correction values on two other axes in every division and storing these correction values and correcting the position in the work area in accordance with position correction values. CONSTITUTION:A work area 1 is equally divided into divisions Z1, Z2-Zn along the Z axis by a proper length. Position correction values X1j and Y1j on X and Y' axes are obtained for the division Z1, and all of correction values X1j and Y1j are applied in the division Z1. Position correction values X2j and Y2j-Xnj and Ynj in X and Y directions are obtained for respective divisions X1-Xn. These divisions Z1Zn and correction values X1j and Y1j-Xnj and Ynj corresponding to them are stored as data in a numerical controller. Since the number of divisions on the Z axis is set to a proper value to store a relatively small amount of data, the processing is possible. Since position correction is performed based on position correction values on X and Y axes corresponding to divisions on the Z axis where position correction should be performed, position correction is performed with a high precision.
