To perform a culture of cell clusters by rotating a culture tank biaxially based on the rectangular coordinates system while feeding a culture solution into the tank from the outside.
The objective bioreactor 1 has a combination of a culture tank 2 with a box 3 surrounding the culture tank 2; wherein the culture tank 2 is a vessel to hold cell clusters to be cultured therein, while the box 3 is a vessel to hold the culture tank 2 therein; the culture tank 2 and the box 3 communication with each other in terms of allowing a culture solution to flow, and a culture solution and a gas are to be fed into the box 3 from the outside. This bioreactor works as follows: the box 3 is unidirectionally rotationally driven about a 1st axis of the rectangular coordinates system, which the culture tank 2 is rotationally driven about a 2nd axis which crosses the cylindrical barrel of the box 3; as a result, liquid flows arise in two directions rectangular to each other inside the culture tank 2, thereby a spherical closed loop of uniform stream line is formed near the center of the culture tank 2, thus cell clusters are stabilized in a dangling condition in the culture liquid with substantially no influence of gravity on the cell clusters in suspension near the center of the culture tank 2.
