Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs and lead time in a design of a packing material intended for the protection and transportation of a product.SOLUTION: All digital design steps for a packing material is integrated into a digitization method for a product 1. The method includes a lamination step of a virtual counter foam 2 of the product effective for defining geometrical data of each layer of the packing material to be cut. Subsequently, the actual packing material is configured by cutting and superposing each layer of the packing material defined by the design step of the packing material.
