To save the consumption of brick for building a blast furnace by executing a heat transfer calculation using the actual heat flowing quantity flowed into a furnace bottom from molten iron and slag to obtain an erosion balanced line in the furnace bottom and designing the furnace bottom structure of the blast furnace based on this result.
Heat flow meters 3 and temp. sensors 4 are three-dimensionally arranged at plural positions in the furnace bottom brick 2 and/or on the outer surface thereof on the bottom plate 6 of the blast furnace 1 to measure the heat flowing quantity and the temp. of the brick 2. Two dimensional and three dimensional heat transfer analyses are executed by using a finite element method(FEM), boundary element method(BEM) or finite difference method(FDM) under condition of heat flow flux from the molten iron and slag in the inside of the furnace and the erosion balanced line in the furnace bottom refractory is estimated. By this method, the furnace bottom structure and the furnace bottom brick arrangement having little heat conduction from the furnace bottom and little erosion of the furnace bottom brick are decided, and the long service life of the blast furnace is obtd.
