PURPOSE: To provide a method for detecting the drainage plug, left opened, of a bath tub which detects the left-opened state of the drainage plug by means of a small amount of hot water and enables the feed of hot water to a given level even in the case of a bath tub being of a large type.
CONSTITUTION: Height(h) of a circulating metal 3 from the bottom of a bath tub 1 is stored, and hot water is fed in the bath tub 1 so that a level is raised to a given value to compute a bottom area S of the bath tub 1 from an amount of the fed hot water. Further, from the bottom area S and the height (h) of the circulating metal 3, a quantity Q of hot water when hot water is fed in the bath tub 1 up to a level slightly above that of the circulating metal 3 is computed to store a result. When, each time following feed is effected, hot water is not circulated through the circulating metal 3 when the quantity Q of hot water is fed in the bath tube 1, it is decided that a drainage plug 2 is left opened.
