Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily and accurately detect errors in location detection, by finding the difference between the counted value of a pulse signal for location detection when a Z pulse from an encoder is generated and a value given by a prescribed formula by detecting the Z pulse signal. CONSTITUTION:Generation of an optical Z pulse signal SZ in the course of the movement of a controlled system in the normal or opposite direction is confirmed and the counted value N' of an up and down counter 3 at the moment when the signal SZ is generated is taken. Then calculation N=a0+n M is performed based on the number a0 of pulse signals outputted from a direction discriminating circuit 2 until the encoder outputs the first Z pulse signal after the controlled system is moved from the original point, number M of normal rotation or opposite rotation pulse signals outputted from the circuit 2 while the encoder makes one revolution, and an integer (n) which approximates to (N'- a0)/M. In this way, a real value N is found on the counted value N'. Therefore, a location detecting error epsilon=¦N-N'¦ can be obtained.
