Abstract:

PURPOSE: To accomplish easy and accurate detection of the steel material position at the connection sections of steel core aluminium strand through detection of the magnetism of the steel material with a magnetism detector after the material inside the electric wire.

CONSTITUTION: After a steel material inside an electric wire D is magnetized, the magnetism of the material is detected with a magnetism detector 6. For example, a steel core aluminium strand D used for a jumper wire is inserted into a jumper socket C of a retaining clamp for compressed connection. Out side the connection point 1, a U-shaped permanent magnet 5 is inserted and moved in the direction of the arrow to magnetize the steel core 2. Then, when a hole element 7 of a magnetism detector 6 is brought into contact with the magnetized portion of the steel core 2, the pointer of the detector 6 swings. As the element is deviated from the steel core, the swing of the pointer becomes weak. Accordingly, the aforementioned arrangement enables the detection of the position of the steel material at the connection points easily and accurately
