Abstract:

To provide DNA mismatch repair pathway of an eucaryote, a related gene, and a new method of the use, for example, in the screening of a medicament, and in prognosis and diagnosis of cancer.

The method for detecting the alternation in the DNA mismatch repair pathway of the eucaryote comprises (a) a step for isolating a biological specimen from a previously selected eucaryote, (b) a step for examining the specimen as the alternation in the nucleotide sequence of the DNA mismatch repair pathway or an expressed product thereof, and (c) a step for comparing the result obtained in the step (b) with a wild-type control.
