Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the measuring error resulting from bubbles, turbidness, and the like, by subjecting the signals generated from a mixture of a sample and coagulant in a prescribed period to a polynominal regression analysis.
CONSTITUTION: To decide the coagulation time, the signals proportional to the optical nature of a mixture of a sample and reagent are measured at a plurality of times and stored in memory. The minimum of the signals is set to zero, and the measurements are normalized, and the final value of the signals is made the end of the interval predetermined. The time T1 of the first signal is set in which the signal value is equal to or smaller than X times as large as the decided final value, and the time T2 of the first signal is set in which the signal value is smaller than or equal to Y times as large as the decided final value. That is, 1>Y>X>0, and a polynominal regression analysis of P'th order is executed for the measurements of signals over the period of the times T1 and T2, and from the function derived, the coagulating time of thromboplastin is determined.
