Title:
METHOD FOR DETERMINING BRAIN DAMAGE, AND HUMAN HEAD FINITE ELEMENT MODEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004303220
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To improve accuracy in determination in a technology for determining by a computer whether impact to the head causes brain damage in the head, by using a human head finite element model for three-dimensionally representing the human head with a combination of a plurality of elements.

The human head finite element model is used to analyze strain and hydrostatic stress generated to the head by the impact, by simulation using a finite element method, based on data indicating the impact to the head (S11-S20). Further, whether the impact to the head causes brain damage is determined (S23, S25) based on whether a first condition on the analysis value of strain is established (S24) and whether a second condition on the analysis value of hydrostatic stress is established (S22).
