To provide a method for determining the clearing of yarn defects so as to catch the change of state of residual defects accompanying the change of setting of a clearing limit more exactly by a visual sense so as to shorten time required for setting work of the clearing limit and to contribute the decrease of production cost.

The method for determining the clearing of yarn defects is provided by displaying the simulation between yarn defects removed by cut by clearing processing to the yarn and the state of remaining yarn defects on a displaying device 21 virtually. Thereby, the necessity of performing a series of complex clearing limit setting works consisting of three operations of the selection of one clearing limit mode, execution of the clearing processing and confirmation of the state of remaining defects is eliminated to allow the setting work of the clearing limit by a small amount of labor and in a short time.
