Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an operation for mounting and dismounting a reference tool on the spindle 6 and a storage space for the reference tool in the case of the phase adjustment of a workpiece w unnecessary, and further to prevent the direct application of a thrust force of the workpiece w on the spindle in the case of the phase adjustment.
SOLUTION: When the phase of the workpiece w to be turned about a specific axis S of a machine tool, which supports a spindle housing 7 supporting the spindle 6 of a special orientation such that only its rotation is possible, so as to move in the three orthogonal directions X, Y, Z by means of a numerical control mechanism 4, should be determined, the workpiece w is turned about the special axis S in the state that a reference block 9 is fixed to the spindle housing 7, and a phase reference portion w1 of the workpiece w is brought into contact with the reference block. Thus, the amount of the feed rotation of the workpiece during the contact is understood.
