Title:
METHOD FOR DETERMINING STANDBY POSITION OF SPLICING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002001401
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To restrain an endless rolling from discontinuing or a rolling speed from lowering for the catch-up by splicing a top end of the following steel plate to a back end of the preceding steel plate with splicing machine without simply discontinuing the endless rolling nor adjusting the jointing speed for the catch-up.

In a method wherein an interval where the top end of the following steel plate catches up with the back end of the preceding steel plate is provided and an interval where, the back end and the top end of both steel plates are splicing, are provided and making the splicing machine which travels the splicing interval wait in the splicing interval, the splicing machine begins to run when the back end of the preceding steel plate and the top end of the following steel plate enter the splicing machine, and then the splicing begins at the time of the back end and the top end of both steel plates make contact with each other, the standby position of the splicing machine is determined so that the relationship among a standby position X, a distance LA required for the top end of the following steel plate catching up with the back end of the preceding steel plate at the time of going into the splicing machine, a distance for catching up interval LB, a distance for splicing interval LC and a distance LD required for splicing satisfies LA-LB≤X≤LC-LD.
